Let's not let go of last season just yet

Last season was great but it is gone. We must let go! But since it's nice to reminisce, above are the 30 best players to have taken part.

Premier League considering Saturday night games

Because there isn't enough football on the rest of the season, Premier League officials are giving serious thought to putting EVEN MORE football. Now it might be on at 7:45pm on Saturday nights too, apparently. Ben Rumsby has more:
Scheduling some matches for 7.45pm on Saturdays was discussed during the league’s summer shareholders’ meeting last week ahead of the upcoming launch of the tender process for its next domestic broadcast deal.
A final decision is expected this autumn, when clubs will also decide how many fixtures to make available to broadcasters between 2019-22 when the rights for those seasons are sold early year.

Right. They don't have any Champions League football to worry about, there's a fair chance they might bin the Europa League and the sole focus this season must be winning that elusive Premier League title. If they've survived that difficult February and carry some momentum into the final weeks, this is what they have to deal with:

Arsenal title run-in

31/03/2018 15:00 Arsenal v Stoke City
07/04/2018 15:00 Arsenal v Southampton
14/04/2018 15:00 Newcastle United v Arsenal
21/04/2018 15:00 Arsenal v West Ham United
28/04/2018 15:00 Manchester United v Arsenal
05/05/2018 15:00 Arsenal v Burnley
13/05/2018 15:00 Huddersfield Town v Arsenal

Man Utd title run-in

Go on then. Let's imagine that Jose Mourinho manages to get Manchester United in the running for the league title, how concerned will he be with these final few fixtures?

Arsenal is a massive one, the trip to Brighton could be really problematic if they are fighting for survival and the Manchester derby has the potential to throw any momentum off the rails. That is followed by a visit from kings of defence, West Brom.

Man Utd title run-in

31/03/2018 15:00 Manchester United v Swansea City
07/04/2018 15:00 Manchester City v Manchester United
14/04/2018 15:00 Manchester United v West Bromwich Albion
21/04/2018 15:00 Bournemouth v Manchester United
28/04/2018 15:00 Manchester United v Arsenal
05/05/2018 15:00 Brighton and Hove Albion v Manchester United
13/05/2018 15:00 Manchester United v Watford

Will Pep Guardiola have a better time of it this season? You'd think so but these final few games look pretty tricky to navigate. Of course, this depends on whether Huddersfield are doing well, if Swansea have given up or if Southampton are happy being mid-table because Everton, Man Utd and Spurs in a row is a nasty little combination.

Man City title run-in

31/03/2018 15:00 Everton v Manchester City
07/04/2018 15:00 Manchester City v Manchester United
14/04/2018 15:00 Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City
21/04/2018 15:00 Manchester City v Swansea City
28/04/2018 15:00 West Ham United v Manchester City
05/05/2018 15:00 Manchester City v Huddersfield Town
13/05/2018 15:00 Southampton v Manchester City

Spurs title run-in

Wembley is going to have an impact on Spurs' season but will the final few fixtures of the season? Spurs have four easier (BUT NO GAME IS EASY IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE, CLIVE) matches but must contend with Chelsea away and Man City at home. After that the finishing line is in sight, but whether Harry Kane and co are in the running for a Premier League trophy is something very difficult to predict.

Spurs title run-in

31/03/2018 15:00 Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur
07/04/2018 15:00 Stoke City v Tottenham Hotspur
14/04/2018 15:00 Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City
21/04/2018 15:00 Brighton and Hove Albion v Tottenham Hotspur
28/04/2018 15:00 Tottenham Hotspur v Watford

It's a tough game at home to Spurs, another London derby the week after, a few - in theory - easier games and then a massive one, again at home, to Liverpool. If Chelsea are in position going into April, they could well power their way to a successive title. Momentum is everything.
